We offer beginning and intermediate riding lessons in both the English
and Western disciplines. Our lessons are primarily conducted by our barn
manager, Lynn. During the summer months we have very qualified assistants
helping her. We believe in teaching all aspects of equestrian care not
just riding the horse. We teach the required care of a horse and what
riders can do to improve their bond with their horse.
Children’s
Lessons
Lessons may be started at age 6 (but is dependent on the individual).
Lynn personally interviews and assesses the younger rider’s desires
and abilities prior to accepting them into lessons. Lessons are offered
in ½ hour and 1 hour increments. Normally the ½ hour time
slots are reserved for the younger children. Our lessons are normally
one on one. We also provide regular communication to the parents on their
children’s progress. Parents are welcomed to stay during the lesson
time, most past their time reading or swinging in the hammock.
Adult Lessons
Adults that would like to begin riding are always welcomed. We have adults
riding that had never been on a horse before and also others that are
starting back riding after taking some time off to start a career or family.
Lynn's easy going style and ability to effectively assess skill levels
keeps all ages comfortable. Lynn is a member of the American Riding Instructor's
Association.
